Dear Guildford Councillor,
I believe that Guildford, and the UK in general, needs more community driven projects that are particularly focussed on sustainable environmental locally based, self-sufficient solutions.
I agree that what the UK community requires are more local grass-root organisations, working in tangent with local authorities and community as a whole, ultimately forming a volunteer based, ‘skill-sharing’ network.
It is clear that with the current economic and climatic situation we should be supporting the efforts of such groups.
I ask Guildford borough council to consider the propositions of the Tyting Community Group and its immense beneficial potential to serve the community as a whole.
I completely agree that more communal spaces should be allocated for the following uses:
* Permaculture and Forest Gardening
* Biodiversity and Wild Life conservation (inc. Bee keeping)
* Educational workshops on environmental solutions, Renewable energy solutions, arts and crafts, homeopathy and Sustainable living practices
* Allotment spaces
* Open public debate forums
* Youth orientated workshops/apprenticeships
I support the groups aims of working closely with local schools, universities, community organisations and local government and implore you, as a councillor, to respect my requests for public debates on the topics mentioned above.
