Tyting Farm provides the perfect opportunity to get back to nature, to re-connect with ourselves and planet earth, and learn important life-empowering skills.
Our vision for the site is to provide an educational facility that focuses on 21st century agricultural techniques such as Permaculture and Forest Gardening, as well as an environmental centre specialising in self-sufficient living practices such as efficient waste disposal and green energy solutions. Our facilities will empower the local community by teaching practical skills, merging state of the art technology with nature.
Almost everything we want to achieve at the farm meets the council’s criteria (as well as the Government’s Core strategy and Guildford sustainable community strategy 2009) and we believe we have a most compelling management proposal for the land. Our contacts are pioneers in the field of sustainable initiatives and we have a great deal of support from local public organisations.
Light agriculture and a green energy policy will enhance the bio-diversity and ensure that this area of outstanding beauty is preserved for future generations – one of the main wishes for the ‘Campaign to Save Tyting farm’ that prevented the farm land from being developed in 2006.
