The current social separation in our daily lives is causing the environment and ourselves a great deal of stress – it is wholly unsustainable. Open access community spaces can provide a platform for the sharing of knowledge and resources, helping to break down communication barriers by allowing people of all ages to ‘work, rest and play’ together. By bringing people together and providing support in this way we will see the overall drop in our energy and food consumption and an increase in the overall well-being of all our members and of the surrounding environment.
Our collective does not uphold the age-old dogma of ‘Us and Them’- We are all in this together…
We aim to fund the site through donations and a pooling of community resources. The nature of this project should make it a highly likely candidate for governmental and private funding as the facilities we envision on the site will enhance our long term sustainability, as well as providing popular leisure and educational facilities for all ages. Unfortunately, due to our direct approach, this does not seem to be the case. It appears the current ruling elite (the bankers) do not want people to become self-sufficient… unless, perhaps, they are all deaf and blind to the real threats we face?

This is not a short-sighted project– this is a long term development plan to ensure a happy and healthy life for all future generations. Through increased communication and co-operation we can soften the blows of the recession, while having a positive effect on the environment and on ourselves.
Now is the time to act. This is an ideal opportunity to make the right choice, right now.
